Dorian O. Burton is passionate about the work of ensuring that African-American youth and communities recognize their greatness and continue to stand together to honor the work of the many forefathers and mothers. Burton’s professional experience includes working in the National Football League, leading special projects and developing partnerships at the Harlem Children’s Zone. Other experience includes serving as the founding program director of Education Pioneers Houston Office as well as the director of Stand for Children Houston, and independently consulting with various nonprofits and school districts primarily in Harlem, NY; Houston, TX; and Newark, NJ. His professional experience includes frequent speaking and presentation engagements, and he has written articles and posts that have been published. Burton holds a bachelor of sociology degree from Penn State University where he also was a member of the prestigious football team, a master in higher education degree from the Steinhardt School of Education at NYU, and a doctorate of education leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. He is the father of four beautiful children: two sons and two daughters.
